Sessional work

► Outreach Worker Sessional Work

We may think about sex every three minutes, but sexual health is less likely to register on our radar. That’s why Spectra CIC is raising awareness of the key issues for HIV prevention and sexual health and well-being; at pubs, clubs, saunas, gyms and other venues across West London and beyond. If you have the confidence to approach strangers and introduce a subject that’s probably the last thing on their minds, you can help people make healthier choices about sex. You would also be given training as a community tester for our peer-led HIV testing service.

The role is based at Spectra’s office in Ladbroke Grove, but working across London. The posts are for sessional work; evenings and weekends with daytime shift availability also required in South West London. Please see the job description below:

Full-time work

► Programme Manager 36 hours per week

Salary: PO1 £30,555 (subject to job evaluation)

Spectra CIC is seeking a Programme Manager to oversee the delivery of our client-facing services across London. Central to this role is the ability to be proactive in identifying the needs of the diverse and often marginalised communities we serve, and enable and empower individuals to make positive, informed choices about their health and wellbeing.

You will motivate and lead a skilled team of outreach workers and volunteers to provide supportive, knowledgeable, non-judgemental and peer-based engagement, including information-based health and wellbeing outreach services, HIV testing and health checks, training sessions, 1-2-1 interventions and group work.

You will have a good understanding of the sexual health and broader health and wellbeing needs and behaviours of men who have sex with men, Black and Minority Ethnic heterosexuals, and trans* communities. There will be opportunities for you to forge exciting new partnerships with other organisations to implement new pieces of work and review and enhance existing Spectra services. You will have people and programme management experience leading diverse teams and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a history of ensuring service outputs and targets are met and of producing detailed reports, as well as a working knowledge of Access and good understanding of other Office programmes including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

The role will be based at Spectra in Ladbroke Grove and working at venues across London.

If you feel passionately about addressing health inequalities, and have the ability to engage and empower your peers we would love to hear from you.

Please read the full Job Description and apply by midday on Tuesday 15 th March 2016.
